Data we hold

  • Whatever your browser hands over with each request: the IP address, a rough location worked out from that address, the user-agent string, screen and device hints, and the page that sent you.
  • The consent setting you pick in the storage panel.
  • Fields you complete in the contact form before it opens your mail app: name, address, chosen topic and the message itself.
  • Analytics events and referral tags from affiliate networks, only after you switch those categories on.

Reasons for using it

  • Keeping pages online and fending off abuse, as our legitimate interest.
  • Analytics, so we learn which hotel notes readers rely on, only with consent.
  • Marketing measurement and affiliate attribution, letting a partner network credit a referral, only with consent.
  • Replying to mail you sent, as a legitimate interest or a step you requested.

Recipients

Hosting and analytics vendors process data for us under contract. Affiliate and partner networks receive referral data when you click a tracked hotel link after allowing advertising storage. Each hotel applies its own privacy notice once you land on its site. Some vendors are based abroad; in that case contractual safeguards such as standard clauses cover the transfer.

How long it stays

Access logs roll over after a brief security window. Emails remain in our inbox until the matter is closed and are then removed. The consent setting lives in your own browser until you reset it or wipe the site's storage.

GDPR rights

Where the GDPR covers you, you may see the data we hold, have it fixed or erased, limit or oppose its use, receive a machine-readable export, and revoke consent at any moment (processing done before that stays lawful). A complaint can also go to your local supervisory authority. Start with privacy@nextnods.com.

CCPA/CPRA rights

Residents of California may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we keep, ask for corrections or deletion, and tell us not to sell or share it for ads targeted across other sites and services. When your browser emits a GPC signal, we treat it as that opt-out for advertising storage. Using any of these rights never changes how the site treats you.

Minors

nextnods is written for grown-ups. We never set out to gather data from people under 18. Should a minor's message reach us, write in and we will delete it.

Updates

Revisions to our data practices are reflected here, dated at the foot.
